Background & Mission Statement

CB1 Gallery was established in early 2010 and exhibits and promotes an intellectually demanding yet aesthetically pleasing group of younger and mid-career artists who cross disciplines, political perspectives and geographies. The gallery's artists work in a range of media including painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, photography and video. The gallery mounts up to 15 solo and group exhibitions annually, in our two downtown LA galleries, including smaller shows and projects in the CB1 West Gallery, adjacent to our main gallery.

Our mission is to help stimulate a fresh dialogue on contemporary art and artists. We are committed to encouraging strong relationships with museum and private curators, other contemporary art galleries, established and emerging collectors, and the art media in order to promote and develop gallery artists worldwide. In 2012 the gallery began participation in art fairs throughout the US and will soon exhibit Internationally.
